List of items to pack for new born in hospital
We are parents of two kids, for delivery of our first baby, we prepared a list of items that we will need in hospital. List was exhaustive and covered most items but still there were lots of item needed to be procured from hospital store and market. Same happened with our packing list of travel, so over the time we improved our lists and few days back we had our second baby. This realized us the need of previous list with more items. We found that list and got the idea, why not to publish all our lists in a website and let help others use them for ready reference. So below is the list of all items we packed for delivery of our baby. With baby there is list of items to be packed for mother.
- Organic cotton wipes
- Organic cotton wipes are better than wet wipes as wet wipes are harsh on newborn 's skin and in winters they feel cold. So prioritize organic cotton wipes as we can dip them in lukewarm water and use them.
- Tape diapers
- Since newborn is quite delicate to handle and it becomes difficult to use pant diapers. Diapers helps to keep the infant dry and tape diapers makes it easy to put.
- Rashfree cream
- To prevent and treat rashes caused by diapers, nappies and clothes. It gives moisturizing and soothing effect.
- Cotton clothes
- Baby skin is very sensitive and clothes other than cotton can cause irritation.
- Baby towel
- Carry towel as per the season of birth, use heavy woolen for winter season.
- Baby clothes
- Newborn babies are very unpredictable. They used to spill milk and pass urine very frequently. In this process their clothes might get wet. So it is always advisable to carry some extra pairs.
- Cloth nappy
- Carry multiple nappies of cloth if discharge can take more number of days.
- Warm cap or cotton cap
- Carry multiple warm caps for winter or cotton cap for delivery in summers.
- Extra pair of loose dress
- To use after delivery.
- Maternity pads
- Normal pads don't work after delivery because of heavy bleeding. So Maternity pads are must to carry.
- Socks, shoes and cap
- To fully cover mother's body as it is advisable to wear them after delivery.
- Crocs
- Crocs are comfortable to put on and off rather than shoes which requires you to bend.
- Nursing bras
- These come with flip down cups which make the breastfeeding comfortable without lifting your clothes.
